This street in Zurich's Old Town on the left bank of the Limmat takes its name from the house "Zur Grünen Zinne" ("At the Green Battlement").

The building at Zinnengasse 2 once featured a projecting structure topped with a battlement, which gave the street its name. Historically, battlements were primarily associated with castles, fortresses, and defensive structures, where they served as protective and military features. In later periods, however, they became increasingly popular as decorative architectural elements in urban buildings.

Our new boutique may not be a castle, but it is a warm and welcoming home, designed for you to feel completely at ease.
